Addison Russell Paid $600 In Child Support In Quarters

Chicago Cubs’ shortstop, Addison Russell has found himself in hot water once again. His ex girlfriend took to her instagram to describe how he pays his child support. She alleges that he has paid up to $600 in child support in quarters. Her instagram post goes into details about his he isn’t part of his daughter’s life and how he pretty much only sees her as a child support payment.

According to Mallory’s Instagram story, this supposedly happened three years ago. She discusses how irresponsible he is for continuing to have children while abandoning his first born. Russell has supposedly gone as far as to have the Cubs block his ex on their social media accounts as an attempt to “silence her.” Mallory expressed how he is violating a court agreement. She goes on to say how he made comments about how poor his own daughter smelled.

This is not the first time an ex has taken to the internet in regards to Russell’s behavior. Melisa Reidy took to her blog to discuss allegations of domestic violence. Due to the findings, he has been suspended for 40 games in the upcoming 2019 season.

The alleged behavior exhibited by Addison Russell is unacceptable. Any resentment he has towards his ex should not play out in the way his child is taken care of. Without knowing their court agreement, it’s hard to speak on what his legal obligations are. Regardless, he should be showing civility towards the mother of his child. This has caused Ms. Engstrom some emotional distress. Something needs to be done to ensure that this does not happen again.

ESPN reported that the team is monitoring Russell’s progress and behavior. It’s more than likely that these claims will be looked into. If these claims are found to be true, could he be completely unemployed before the season starts?
