Red Sox relief pitcher, Joe Kelly signed a 3 year $25m contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was put out there that management wanted to resign Kelly and Kimbrel would be the one who walks. MLB Trade Rumors reported that Kimbrel is looking for a nine figure contract. Dombrowski has made questionable choices in the past but something tells me this won’t be added to the list.
The Red Sox have shown interest in Rockies Relief Pitcher, Adam Ottavino. This won’t go unchallenged though. The Yankees and Mets are also chasing down the 33 year old right handed pitcher. It’s worth noting that Ottavino is from New York. Could a homecoming be in store for him?

Adding Ottavino to the Red Sox bullpen after losing Joe Kelly would essentially cancel the transaction out. You know, like in algebra? What you do to one side you must do to another. He had an ERA of 2.43 over 75 games and managed to let up five home runs. People are put off by his Babe Ruth comments but come on, the guy has a filthy slider and would absolutely destroy the Great Bambino.
