It’s the middle of December and Tuukka Rask is not the Bruins starting goalie. Do the Bruins have a set number one goalie? It certainly doesn’t feel like it. Personally, it feels like Bruce Cassidy is flipping a coin to make these choices. The issue is no longer lies with Rask but with management.
Halak had a rather weak performance against the Florida Panthers. The Bruins were shut out 5-0. Make of that what you will. The Bruins offense was next to invisible but that doesn’t excuse 41’s performance.
Tuukka won in Montreal. He beat this narrative that has been falsely written about him. He’s 3-2 in his last five with a S% of .964. Again, make if that what you will.
You can’t make decisions off of singular games because an athlete will waiver from time to time. However, if you paid Tuukka to be your starting goalie and he’s shaking off the rust then put him in net. These narratives aren’t going anywhere if he’s riding the pine. Cassidy needs to put Rask in more often than not. There is an issue with the offense but that shouldn’t be interfering with Rask or Halak’s jobs. It’s time for the revolving door to stop.
