Moments In History

I’ve witnessed a lot of history and greatness in my short time on earth. These moments are always topics of conversation at the bar, family gatherings, and anytime a team is in the playoffs. There are too many moments for me to write about so, I decided to pick out some of my favorites.

Bruins vs. Leafs Game 7

I remember pacing back and forth in my living room. I was wearing my “Keep Calm & Bergeron” t shirt, worrying a hole through my stomach. If I went through my Facebook archive, I’m sure I could find my live reaction to this game. My poor mother was just trying to sleep but there I was in the living room, screaming, “Tyler Seguin you BITCH.” at my television. Not much has changed.

Julian Edelman Super Bowl LI

I was watching the Super Bowl at my best friend’s house. We were in the basement with her mom and brother. She’d gotten up to go to the bathroom moments before this catch. As soon as they ruled it a catch, she was forced to stay in the bathroom until the game was over. To this day, I don’t think she’s seen this iconic moment.

2013 David Ortiz

2013 was one hell of a year for the city of Boston. A tragedy brought the entire city together. We became Boston Strong. The spirit and unity of Boston grew stronger as the year went on. We can’t forget about the 2013 World Series Champions, Boston Red Sox. David Ortiz, in general, was a gem that year. His game-tying grand slam and “our city” speech will always hold a special place in my heart.

Curt Schilling- Bloody Sock

Need I say more?

Post Marathon National Anthem

I will never not tear up watching this.

The 2008 Celtics

This was the only year I followed the Celtics from start to finish. There was something special about this team. I don’t think the C’s will ever have anything like it ever again.

2011 Stanley Cup Finals

To be completely honest, 2011 was an odd year for me. There was a lot of things going on in my personal life. The B’s winning was a personal victory.

2004 World Series

If you’ve read my blog for a while you’d know how important my dad is to me. You’d also know how important baseball is to me. The two of them go together like peanut butter and jelly. The horror stories I heard about his time as a bleacher creature or how he’d chirp Darryl Strawberry. He was and still is a Bill Buckner apologist.
