You read that right. The Boston Bruins have traded defenseman, Adam McQuaid to the New York Rangers. The Bruins will receive Steven Kampfer and draft picks in return.

The Bruins defense is is stacked. There’s only so much playing time you can give a guy. I wouldn’t have expected to see much of McQuaid this season unless injuries plagued the D.

I had always heard stories about how good of a guy Adam was to the media.You never heard any stories about him being a sore loser or a tough guy to talk to. Some Boston media members took to twitter to reflect on their interactions with him.

Trades are inevitable and it’s part of the game. I certainly wasn’t expecting to write about this one this offseason. My money was on David Krejci or Torey Krug. Regardless, it sucks to see him go. There’s plenty of other guys who can do what he did and more.
